Long Walks

My wife Beth and I are avid hikers. In fact, we met in 2002 while attending a two weekend workshop on the use of a Map & Compass.

Since then, we have walked a long way together. We particularly like doing what the English call "long walks".

Over the past 15 years, we have completed end to end hikes of ...

  • The Bruce Trail (800 kms through southern Ontario)
  • The Maitland Trail (45 kms through Huron County in southern Ontario)
  • The Cumbria Way (70 miles through the Lake District of England)
  • The West Highland Way (100 miles through southwestern Scotland)
  • Four day hike along the GR4 in France from St. Andre-Des-Alpes to Entreveaux.
  • The Limestone Way (50 miles through the Peak District in the Midlands of England)
  • Three weeks hiking in Switzerland, which included a series of guided hikes in and around Adelboden.

We have also enjoyed hiking the following trails and parks:

  • The Skerwink Trail (Newfoundland)
  • Maberley to Little Catalina (Newfoundland)
  • New Bonaventure to British Harbour (Newfoundland)
  • Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Tennessee)
  • Shenandoah National Park (Virginia)
